purchased a ZaReason netbook a couple of years back. I was amazed at how awesome this little device is. Keep in mind I use Apple Computers at work, and have a few laptops. I wanted to see what else was out there and thought this would be a good chance to give it a try.

I opened the box, turned on the computer and it worked. Every bit as simple and as beautiful as an Apple Laptop.

I was able to do everything I wanted right out of the box. Didn't need to go download software, because everything I needed was already there. Of course, after time, I wanted to install software which was easy enough to do with the wonderful open source software options that are out there.

Linux laptops have now replaced my Mac laptops. They just work, they are secure, and most of all they are open to allow me to do what I want to do with my computer when I want to do it.

Thank you ZaReason for making an incredible product, at a great price that can go toe-to-toe with a huge manufacturer like Apple.

I needed a computer for school and I really didn't want another Windows machine. A friend told me about you guys. I just got my laptop and it works great. It was so great to turn it on and have it boot to Ubuntu. I didn't have to mess with it at all. It's as good as promised.

The Strata has been my most sturdy computer yet. It's great that it runs my favorite Linux distro and I don't have to worry about drivers for once.

My wife and I bought two of these Strata 7330s. We customized them with the new third-generation Ivy Bridge processors which I can highly recommend.

Hers has the i5-3210 processor with 8 GB RAM and mine has the i7-3720 with 16 GB RAM. Both have 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drives.

These are positively the best computers we have ever owned. As always with ZaReason, everything "just works." The quality of construction is superb. They are FAST, amazingly fast.

For example, on mine, the HandBrake video encoding program just whizzes by, better than three times faster than my previous, only 4-year old, computer. On hers, with the various design programs she uses, the time saved is very noticeable.

The screen is quite beautiful and the keyboard, the trackpad, and the buttons are exemplary in design. I have been getting about 5 hours with the battery and that's with all the power saving options disabled!

Even though ZaReason doesn't offer it officially, we asked them to install Xubuntu. It is both my wife's and my opinion that, though some of the other Ubuntu variants are very nice (and in the case of Kubuntu, extremely beautiful to see), it is Xubuntu, with its Xfce desktop, which we want for day in and day out computing. The Xfce desktop is the most efficient and easy to customize one we have ever used (it's even better than Gnome 2.32 in our opinion).

(Lubuntu is slightly faster and it is appropriate for older computers but, on modern machines, it is too limited, at least for us.)

When ZaReason says that "everyone should have a laptop this advanced," they aren't kidding! If you are in the market for a desktop replacement laptop computer, unless you are a serious gamer (in which case you would want the Verix - or a powerful desktop), it is my opinion that this is the laptop to buy.

Do I have a 'druther?' Of course! I wish the number keypad which is to the right of the main keypad had keys of a different color than the main keys so as to make distinguishing between them slightly easier. But that is a very minor 'nit.'

I purchased a Teo netbook a couple of years ago so I am quite familiar with ZaReason. I want to say that their support service, both BEFORE as well as AFTER the sale, are absolutely first-class. (That's why I chose to deal with them again!)

So, as of now, that's three ZaReason computers we have purchased.

They won't be the last ones!

This laptop has been working great for me. I got to customize the order according to my processing power requirements and I have had no trouble with the laptop. My computer cost me half of what I would have paid for with Windows / OS X for similar hardware specs.

I chose Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) and the only thing I had to manually change was update the linux drivers to those from Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal), because Chrome would hang all the time in the current configuration. This was not a hard problem to fix and I will keep coming back to Zareason for all my future laptops.
