Os Stories Instagram stories are a type of ephemeral content, that is, after 24 hours they disappear from your profile. But they are not simply deleted from your account. All the stories you have ever made are saved in a specific area of ​​your Instagram account.

Even though they are no longer visible to everyone, Instagram allows users to find them in the archive and repost them as a keepsake. Instagram automatically saves all stories since December 2017 in the archive, along with feed posts, reels, and live streams.

By accessing your old stories archive, you can repost them with the original date. Here’s how to access your old Instagram stories and also how to repost them as a keepsake if you want.

Access old stories via the archive on Instagram

Step 1. Go to the Instagram main menu

Open Instagram on your Android or iPhone and tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner. Then tap on the three-line icon in the top right corner to open the main menu.

Step 2. Click “Archive” to view archived items.

In the “How you use Instagram” section, click “Archive” to access your archived posts.

Step 3. Select “Story Archive” to find old stories

Under “Archive,” look for “Stories Archive.” If you don’t see it right away, click the button in the top left corner and make sure “Stories Archive” is selected to show your Stories history.

Step 4. Choose a story to share as a keepsake

Swipe up to see older stories. Tap one to open it, then tap “Share” to repost it as a keepsake.

Step 5. Post the old story as a keepsake

Use Stories’ editing tools to add text, GIFs, stickers, music, and more. Click the white button in the bottom right corner to choose whether you want to share with all your followers or just Close Friends. Tap “Share” to finish.
