Gigabyte has confirmed today that its Z890 line motherboards support Intel 200s Boost, a new BIOS configuration with safe overclocking profiles. With the feature on, Intel Core Ultra 200k unlocked processors will have clock earnings in a simplified way and without losing the manufacturer’s warranty.
“Intel 200s Boost delivers pre-configured overclocking profiles for Intel Core Ultra 200s processors that improve game performance by increasing frequencies in processor components for best system framers and responsiveness,” says Gigabyte’s official publicity. “Best of all, the Intel 200s Boost is completely covered by the 3 -year warranty for Intel (…) processors”
Gigabyte will release an update of BIOS that adds the resource to the setup. As shown in the image above, it is a simple button that the user chooses to activate or not, if the system is compatible. In addition to unlocked CPUs, the 200s Boost also requires XMP compatible RAM, specification to DDR5-8000.
Gigabyte anticipates in the announcement of Intel 200s Boost
As Videocardz noticed, Gigabyte ended up confirming the feature ahead of time. So much so that its disclosure was removed from the official website to be published again at the right time.
This indicates that Intel itself should make the official announcement of the 200s Boost this later, noting that it is a tool present in plates of different partners. Only after this confirmation will we see which other manufacturers besides gigabyte will also confirm the new configuration in its products.
