Intel may have a generation of processors codenamed Razer Lake-S, arriving shortly after its Nova Lake-S in an as-yet-unannounced socket. That’s according to the latest leak, which should be taken with a good dose of skepticism, as with all rumors.

The information comes from HXL, on Twitter (@9550pro). He lists Razer Lake-S as the successor to Nova Lake-S, placing both generations compatible with a socket with an as-yet-unannounced name. It is worth noting that this socket would come after LGA-1851, currently prepared for the Arrow Lake-S generation.

Corroborating the rumor is a post from another account, known as Bionic Squash (@SquashBionic). VideoCardz claims that this account has a good track record of leaking about Intel, and its post confirms that the codename has “finally leaked.”

It’s curious that such an early leak would come, especially when Intel is reportedly changing so many of its plans. Also according to unofficial information, the Core manufacturer was going to make a refresh for Arrow Lake-S before the arrival of Nova Lake-S, but this line would have been canceled. Thus, so far we only know of a series of processors compatible with the LGA-1851 socket.

Intel struggles to restructure itself

It’s possible that Intel’s frequent changes in plans are a reflection of the current problems the company is facing. In addition to the difficulties with Raptor Lake processors and their refresh – 13th and 14th generation – the company is struggling with the almost constant devaluation of its shares.

The above table was put together by VideoCardz, showing the processor series compatible with each of the company’s latest sockets. The “check mark” indicates products that have already been released, the hourglass for confirmed CPUs that have yet to make their debut, and the question mark for generations that are still rumored.

More about Intel:

The site even raises the hypothesis that Intel will bring Nova Lake-S to the LGA-1851 socket as well, so it would not be compatible with just one generation of processors. So far, however, it is speculated that this series will debut a new generation of motherboards as well.
