Willing to also compete in the portable PC market, Zotac is preparing its new Zotac Zone with specifications considered cutting-edge. According to information obtained by the VideoCardz website, the manufacturer will bring the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U APU for the device, which will also have a 7-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.

This means that the company will follow in the footsteps of other competitors and bet on one of AMD’s most powerful lines today. The new laptop will feature integrated Radeon 780M graphics, which have 12 RDNA3 computing units, and can be used at different voltages, ranging between 15W and 28W.

Common 7-inch AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p) resolution and a maximum brightness of 800 nits, the Zotac Zone looks a lot like an improved version of the ROG Ally, at least on paper. To differentiate itself, the company must invest in its own software and solutions that guarantee greater optimization of supported games.

Laptops should not focus on autonomy

According to VideoCardz, although the Zotac Zone is technically considered a portable, it will focus more on offering power rather than autonomy to consumers. While the battery should last just over an hour, this time can be lengthened by reducing gaming performance and using lower voltages.

The website states that a demo version of Zotac Zone will be available at Computex 2024, but should not reflect its finished look or specifications. This is the main reason why the weight of the product has not yet been defined, as it may still undergo some small variations.

The manufacturer has already confirmed that its entry into the portable PC segment will take place in the next quarter, but has not yet released a specific date for this to happen. However, given its specifications, it is already guaranteed that it will have a price considered high for the segment in which it will compete.
