According to the Moore’s Law is Dead channel, there are rumors about Samsung and Apple’s interest in buying Intel. The insider highlighted how people in the industry whisper behind the scenes about the possibility of the purchase.

After the mass layoff of 1,300 employees, rumors about the hardware company’s chances of selling parts of the company began to gain more strength. In addition to Samsung and Apple, the information also suggests the possibility of Qualcomm buying Intel.

You can check out the comments from the Moore’s Law is Dead channel below, starting at 6:40. At this moment, he explains what he has been hearing behind the scenes in Silicon Valley.

According to him, discussions between executives exist, but will not necessarily happen. “Let me get straight to the point here, I’m hearing that Apple or more likely Samsung are possibly in serious talks to acquire Intel“.

Can the acquisition of Intel by Samsung and Apple become real?

Recently, Intel and Samsung have lost some of their competitiveness against TSMC. Therefore, Intel executives argue about the benefits of dividing and selling sectors. In this way, the company will continue to play an important strategic role in the United States, providing cutting-edge technology in the fields of AI and military use.

In fact, China accuses Intel chips of threatening national security. Moore’s Law is Dead also highlighted how Intel can produce cutting-edge technology, but heard that the “newer lithographs are a disaster“.

This is something that is 100% being whispered now behind the scenes. And I wouldn’t take it as something that’s actually going to happen. I’m not saying ‘Hey get ready because by the end of this year all Intel buildings will have Samsung or Apple logos’. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying there are rumors.

The strongest rumors involve Samsung, rather than Apple, buying Intel. On the other hand, Cupertino-based Big Tech is able to benefit from the acquisition. By purchasing the hardware company, Apple (TSMC’s major customer) can reduce the production costs of its devices.

Samsung has already admitted to a crisis situation and faced difficulties with the 3 nm wafers of the Exynos 2500 chipset. The union with Intel could guarantee greater competitiveness against TSMC, preventing the Taiwanese manufacturer from distancing itself from its rivals.

We don’t know for sure whether Apple, Samsung or Qualcomm will actually acquire Intel. Meanwhile, with so many rumors circulating about the subject, the discussions must be real. It remains to be seen whether executives will actually opt for the sale and whether a complete or partial acquisition will happen in the future.
