Catching the attention of the tech community, its latest device, the Skylinehas sparked interest thanks to its design that harks back to the iconic Lumia, creating considerable buzz among tech enthusiasts.
And that’s just the beginning, as HMD isn’t resting on its laurels — they’re diligently working on another device, this time inspired by the classic Lumia 1020equipped with a circular camera module that is very characteristic of that cell phone. HMD’s new phone could be focused on photography
While the Skyline features a traditional rectangular camera module, the new offering features a circular module. The aforementioned image shows five compartments within the module, which are presumed to be spaces to house four cameras and an LED flash — a potentially robust arrangement for photography.
We hope that HMD makes a smart choice regarding the camera sensors and completely ignores those less useful depth sensors, which are often merely decorative. We are here rooting for this new model to be a camera-focused flagship that raises the bar for HMD.
The design of the device remains true to the signature style of the Lumia series, standing out boldly in a market saturated with similar designs. And speaking of details, on the bottom of the device we can clearly discern the HMD logo. It would be incredibly nostalgic if the device were offered in that vibrant yellow shade that became emblematic with the original Lumia 1020.
Nokia Lumia 1020 is missed
The name of this new device remains a mystery for now, but more information is expected to emerge soon. It is worth remembering that the Nokia Lumia 1020 was a landmark when it launched in 2013boasting an impressive 41MP camera, Carl Zeiss quality lenses and OIS — characteristics that, at that time, made it the object of desire for photography enthusiasts.
With this upcoming phone from HMD and its promising round camera module, the company seems to be positioned to captivate all those who value good photography.
However, it’s still too early to go into details about technical specifications or other features. While we wait for more news, we’re curious to hear your thoughts on HMD’s latest releases. Do you think they have what it takes to stand out in this highly competitive market?
