Brazilian YouTube channel Teclab, owned by Ronaldo Buassali, has created the world’s first GeForce RTX 4090 Super GPU with 26 Gbps of G6X memory. To build the RTX Super model, Teclab used a PCB (Circuit Board) from a GALAX RTX 3090 Ti HOF.

Teclab’s GeForce RTX 4090 Super is a GPU model that uses parts of the 4090 components and also the hardware of the RTX 3090 Ti HOF OC LAB Edition, which had a white PCB and two 16-pin connectors. However, to be able to make the world’s first RTX 4090 Super, it wasn’t simply a matter of joining the parts of both hardware and that’s it.

To ensure the operation of the RTX 4090 Super, the model used the D102-300-A1 “Ada” die and replaced the 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory with a 24 Gbps GDDR6X combination. In addition, it was also necessary to change the BIOS, and the power supply to an external 1.2 V model – instead of the original model’s 1.8 V.

The external liquid cooling system also helped the entire system function, preventing the incredible project from overheating. Not only did the hardware work, it also presented very interesting performance gains.

World’s first RTX 4090 Super GPU delivers strong performance gains

In standard performance tests, Teclab’s RTX 4090 Super performed 13% performance gain at 8K resolution. The tests were performed on the Unigine Superposition benchmark. With the memory overclocked to 3 GHz, the GPU gain – compared to the regular version of the 4090 – rose to an impressive 16%.

But the performance gains didn’t stop there. With all settings maxed out, the GeForce RTX 4090 Super GPU brought a 40% gain in graphics performance at 8k resolution. The overclock speed was maintained at 2,871 MHz and 1,613 with 26 Gbps memory.

  • RTX 4090 – 12,479 points;
  • 4090 Super – 14,114 points;
  • 4090 Super (Memory Overclock) – 14,537 points;
  • 4090 Super (Maximum OC Settings) – 17,454 points.

As we can see, a real version of the RTX 4090 Super with 26 Gbps of G6X memory could be a very impressive hardware product. Perhaps NVIDIA should have considered a GPU with high memory, satisfying part of the enthusiast audience looking for ever greater performance.
