AMD is preparing a new feature for its Curve Optimizer (CO) tool on the Ryzen 9000 called Curve Shaper, according to Yuri Bubliy (@1usmus), who is known for his work on enthusiast software for AMD processors.

The Ryzen enthusiast developer says that Curve Shaper will allow the CO performance boost to be controlled across the entire temperature range. “Previously, we had to set CO to be stable at both low and high temperatures,” he explains. “Now that’s going to change, we’ll be able to control CO across the entire temperature range.”

The feature is particularly interesting for lower voltages and temperatures. VideoCardz explains that Curve Shaper will help prevent Ryzen 9000 series processors from applying boost when the system is idle at low temperatures.

Bubliy also mentions that the new feature should integrate with AMD’s Ryzen Master configuration software. This eliminates the need to download yet another program, and users will also have the option to configure it directly through the BIOS.

Anyone interested in learning more about the developer’s work can visit his Patreon page. This is where he makes his Hydra software available, which provides advanced monitoring and configuration for AMD hardware.

AMD’s next generation of Zen 5-based processors will bring a lot of interesting new features for those who like to tinker with overclocking and similar settings.

As reported earlier this week, the Ryzen 9000 series will mark the first time we’ll have a CPU with 3D V-Cache and fully overclockable performance. That’s what rumors about the Ryzen 9000X3D models indicate, which you can check out here.

The new processors are expected to arrive at the end of this month, so motherboard manufacturers are already preparing their products! Those who use MSI, ASRock or ASUS can now check if a BIOS update is available.
