I wanted a rugged high-end machine for work. It looks like the Verix 2.5 will hold up for many years to come. I'm usually rough on my machines and the Verix hinges feel unusually solid, the keyboard looks like it can take a beating and the case is well designed. I'm looking forward to having this laptop for a long time.

I bought a desktop from Zareason a year ago and it took only a few minutes to get it set up and running. It's still working just fine. I figured the Zareason laptops might be good too and so far the Verix I got is just as great. I got it set up and have been working without a glitch for more than a month now. Thanks Zareason. I'll be back for more. ;-)

Thanks for the great laptop. It was actually priced better the others I was looking at and I'm glad to support a company that supports free and open source software.

    Mine just died...
Purchased late 2010, the usb ports and webcam never worked on kde/kubuntu, which speaker device it used seemed random or needed a reboot to work, and it once crashed needing a CMOS battery removal to work at all.
A few months back, the screen hinges started coming apart. Now it is just dead, no response from the power button at all. Less than a years worth of use, and not even full use at that.

I haven't bought the latest Verix yet, but only because my Verix 1 is still kicking @$$! Zareason makes tough, powerful laptops that end up costing you less than anyone else's, many times less than a few vendors I know. Their methods of finding good hardware really pays off.
