Seasonic launches new Core GX ATX3 series power supplies, from 650W to 850W

Seasonic has unveiled a new series of modular power supplies with an 80 Plus Gold energy efficiency rating. The Core GX ATX3 PSUs come in 650W, 750W, and 850W capacities, and are available in black or white color options. Additionally, the components meet ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 specifications for modern builds.

The manufacturer emphasizes the cooling capabilities of its new Core GX ATX3 line. Starting with the fan, which measures 120mm and uses a hydraulic dynamic bearing (HDB) – similar to a fluid dynamic bearing (FDB). Seasonic has implemented S2FC in its power supplies, which means that the fan turns off for total silence when the system is not demanding much from the power supply.

In addition to the fan design, the PSUs were made with OptiSink technology, which promises to reduce the volume of internal circuits by up to 48%. This allows for greater airflow and, consequently, more effective cooling. Seasonic promises thermal conductivity up to eight times greater than sources without this type of construction.

Finally, the brand also highlights the presence of native 12V-2×6 connectors, which have already become common in more recent power supply models, due to the 12VHPWR design fiasco.

Seasonic fonts price and availability

The Seasonic Core GX ATX3 line is already on sale in China, and the manufacturer has not yet said whether it will bring the products to the US. The company is asking the equivalent of US$68 for the 650W model, with the price going up to US$96 for the 750W capacity and US$123 for the 850W option.

However, these prices only apply to black fonts. For some reason, the manufacturer decided to charge more for the same products in white. Still in ascending order of capacities, white fonts now cost US$82, US$110 and US$137, respectively.
