Micron completed 46 years since its founding on October 5th this year. To celebrate its most recent anniversary, the company decided to reveal a completely new logo, very different from the M with a circle that we have become accustomed to.
Micron’s new logo features the company’s name written in lower case, with the first “leg” of the m and the last of the n extended. According to the company, this evokes Micron’s continuing history, celebrating the past and looking to the future. “They serve as visual metaphors of our continuous improvement and excellence”, says the promotional text.
In its promotional text, the company also highlights that the gradient gray color in the logo would be to resemble the look of the wafers, which would be the foundation of its “leadership in technology”.
Old logo, to compare:
Taking advantage of the brand’s promotion, Micron recalls that its very first product was a 64K DRAM module, launched in 1981. Now, the company highlights its NAND and HBM3E products, and doesn’t stop talking about AI:
“As we enter the age of AI, innovation in memory and storage has never been more important. It’s an exciting time to be in the semiconductor industry, and a proud time to work at Micron.”
Micron declares itself “ahead of the curve”
The entire reveal of the new logo follows a theme of the company declaring itself “ahead of the curve” in relation to its competitors. The statement comes after important innovation announcements that the company made throughout the year.
The memory maker expanded its production in Taiwan, began mass manufacturing 9th generation NAND, and was the first to show a PCIe Gen 6 SSD for servers.

As mentioned by the company itself, HBM memories are an important item in its portfolio. While advancing the development of HBM3E, currently the most advanced generation of wideband memory, Micron is one of only three major companies in the world expected to offer HBM4 in 2025.
