We had already shown here that the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, the top-of-the-line SKU in the Strix Point series, delivers surprising single-core performance. Now, a new leak reveals that its performance with a single core is equal to that delivered by the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, AMD’s current top of the line mobile phone.

On Geekbench, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 achieved 2,816 points in single-core, 3 points less (on average) than the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, therefore a technical draw in the same test. We still don’t know if this Strix Point CPU will be the top of the line in the series, but it is already on par with AMD’s current strongest CPU for notebooks.

Considering multiple cores, things change, because the Zen 5 processor has fewer cores (12/24) compared to the top-of-the-line Zen 4 mobile CPU and its 16 cores and 32 threads (Zen 4).

Ryzen AI 300 may surpass these tests in final versions

It is worth noting that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 achieved the same performance as the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D with a boost of almost 1 GHz less, as it delivered 4.82, below the 5.1 GHz, which was the number revealed by AMD for this processor.

Compared to the previous generation’s top-of-the-line mobile processor, the Ryzen 9 8945HS, the Strix Point CPU delivers 20% more multi-core performance, as it has more cores, in addition to around 18% more single-core performance, clear evolution of Zen architecture.

We are talking about test results with AMD CPU engineering samples, which in this case come from benchmarks carried out with an ASUS notebook. It is important to highlight that the two images above refer to different tests, each with different results, so we are considering the best of them.

Equipped with 12 Zen 5 and Zen 5C cores, in addition to 24 threads, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 also has the largest implementation of integrated graphics, the Radeon 890M, which has 16 computing units, enough to deliver performance close to GeForce RTX 3050 mobile in these first tests.

The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, along with the Ryzen AI 9 365, will arrive in July on more than 100 models of AMD partner notebooks, such as ACER, ASUS, HP, Lenovo and MSI.
