Revealed in May, during the event Google I/Othe tool AI Overview is now available in Brazil. The search giant confirmed the availability of the search engine that answers questions using artificial intelligence this Thursday (15).
According to the company, the tool uses content available on the web to briefly answer any questions asked by the user. In the presentation video during Google I/O, the company demonstrated how the tool works.
By entering the sentence “explain how temperature impacts the baking process. AI Overview comes into action and generates a brief response about the content, in addition to also aggregating links from other sites so that the user can expand their navigation on the topic.
The company sees the tool as a valuable tool for those who want to quickly understand information from multiple sources, including web data and Google Knowledge Graph.
With the launch, Brazil joins the list of countries where AI Overview is available. The tool is also available in India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico and Great Britain. Google expects to reach 1 billion users of AI Overview by the end of the year.
As with any other generative text AI, be careful about blindly trusting the answers provided. Tools like this work best as time-savers for researching a topic, allowing you to quickly “skim” on important points of a topic and then move on to broader research.
