Benchmarks for an engineering sample of the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU have been released, revealing that the new processor can reach up to 5.7 GHz when overclocked.
The results of the tests carried out in the CPU-Z benchmark show that the previous version of the chip achieved 871.4 points in single-threaded, while in the multi-threaded workload 7096.6 points were reached.

Compared to the Ryzen 5 7600X, the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU sample is at a much higher level. The previous processor obtained 767 points in single-threaded and 6276 points in multi-threaded, in addition to reaching 5.45 GHz when overclocked.
While the Ryzen 5 7600X achieves lower overclocking results, its “stock” version brings an even greater difference. With a frequency of 5.3 GHz, it presents 727 points in single-threaded tests and 6179 points in multi-threaded tests.
It’s important to note that the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU sample is not the version that will arrive in stores. The “stock” SKU will have 6 Zen5 cores and can reach 5.4 GHz boost clock. Its TDP is 65W, much lower than the 105W of the Ryzen 5 7600X in comparison.
As we pointed out above, the “stock” version of the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU will not bring results as high as those presented by its engineering sample.
In the benchmark tests that have already been carried out, the new processor obtained a score that is well above what was seen in its predecessor. In single-threaded, it obtained 776 points and in multi-threaded it reached 6201 points.

The launch of AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs
Another important aspect to mention is that AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU test results may vary depending on the users’ configuration – which may be higher or lower depending on the platform, motherboard settings or power consumption.
The AMD Ryzen 9000 processors will be launched in July and, as we get closer to their arrival, more information should be released – both via benchmark tests and through the manufacturer’s official channels.
