Samsung was the most searched for smartphone brand in Brazil in May and dominates 2024 so far, says Buscapé

While the company placed eight models on the list of the 20 most searched, Xiaomi had seven, Apple three and Motorola two. The highlight of the month is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G 256GB 8GB, occupying the first position with an average price of R$1,880.

Second place is occupied by the Motorola Moto G84 256GB 8GB, with prices that can vary between R$1,259 and R$1,507. In third place is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G 12GB 256GB, found from R$4,049. The fourth and fifth positions are occupied by Xiaomi cell phones, with the Pocophone Poco X6 Pro 512GB 12GB and Redmi 12 8GB 256GB models, found with average prices of R$2,250 and R$910, respectively.

Intermediate cell phones are Brazilians’ favorite

Combining a more affordable price and access to some more advanced features, intermediate cell phones, those with prices of up to R$2,000, are the most searched for by Brazilians. Of the ten most searched for, seven are in this category and six are from Xiaomi, a Chinese manufacturer that stands out with models in this category.

The top of the line occupy the other half of the top 10. Among them, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G, Xiaomi Pocophone Poco X6 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S23 5G, with average prices between R$2,000 and R$5,000.

The price variation among the top 20 most searched cell phones in May was up to 30% for the same product, such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB 12GB, found from R$6,299 to R$8,999. Another model that also showed a large variation in cost between stores was the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G 128GB 8GB, which can be found from R$1,699 to R$2,169, a difference of 22%.
