Intel has greatly promoted its next generation of Panther Lake processors to praise the debut of the 18th chip manufacturing process in the household segment. But remember that the line arrives accompanied by the Wildcat Lake, made with the same technology, but facing cheaper devices. And now we have a new leak on these models.
Apparently the Wildcat Lake will be really “meek”. The famous Insider Kepler (@kepler_L2) has found an update that reveals that line processors will not support Ray Tracing. In the capture below we can see that the value “has_ray_tracing” appears as “false”, ie “false”, negative.

The information is not yet official, but it will not be a big surprise if it is confirmed. As mentioned, these are mobile processors for input platforms. Earlier leaks revealed that they have only two XE3 cores for integrated charts.
The XE3 architecture is compatible with ray tracing, but with limited performance makes sense to disable the feature.
Wildcat Lake will not have nuclei and?
Previous leaks indicate that in addition to the IGPU XE3 nuclei pair, Wildcat Lake processors will bring only two P and four LP nuclei for a total of six. That is, possibly we will not have the so -called nuclei and efficient.
This draws attention because Intel’s recent rumors indicate that the company prepares to “unify” its nuclei, abandoning the distinction between units for performance and efficiency in 2028, with the Titan Lake generation.

It is possible that change affects only CPUS desktop, and the Wildcat Lake are mobile. Still, it is curious since Intel would focus precisely on the nuclei and that these processors will probably not have.
New processors should appear in mini PCs too
Intel seems to be positioning the Wildcat Lake as successors of the Alder Lake-N and Twin Lake. They are input CPUs with very low TDPs that appear not only on notebooks, but also on other portable devices. These models are also successful in Mini PCs.

Thus, it is very likely that we will see processors appearing on compact computers from the second half of this year, which is the launch window for both WildCat and Panther Lake.
