A few days after Intel’s former CEO declares that quantum computing on a large scale is less than five years to come true, Welinq announces the first quantum memory for commercial use of the world. The idea is to offer a compact product ready for integration on established quantum data centers.
According to Welinq, there are over 100 individual quantum computers in the world, so the next step is to start investing in high -performance architecture scalable nets. Is the company’s new quantum memory focused on this purpose? “Welinq’s quantum memory acts as a dorsal spine for this infrastructure, making it possible to turn on quantum processors into powerful and scalable nets,” the company says.
The company explains in a simplified way how its memory acts to help quantum processors work together. As a buffer, the product allows the distribution of entanglement and synchronization of the quibits among network processors. Acting in communication, memory allows the creation of large -scale secure networks.
“Quantum technologies need the right infrastructure, and we are building it,” said Tom Darras, co-founder and CEO of Welinq. “Our product for quantum memory announced today (24) is a cornerstone for quantum networks that will enable the quantum revolution.”

Something that draws attention to the new Welinq product is the ease of its implementation. According to the company, its quantum memories are a completely integrated system that can be connected to instantly (plug-and-play ”). In addition, each unit fits in the 19 ”industrial standard size racks.

According to the manufacturer, its memories have a rate of over 90% for on-demand recording and recovery for unique photons, which would be the highest rate ever won in a quantum memory.
