Venice: AMD EPYC 9006 can have up to 96 Zen 6 or 256 Zen 6C nuclei

AMD should not be far from presenting us with its first Zen 6 centers processors, in the form of the EPYC 9006, also known as Venice. The leakage of the time says that the upcoming server CPUs can incorporate up to 96 Zen 6 nuclei, or even Zen 6C.

The information comes from HXL (@955Pro), which has a good history of correct leaks with AMD. And he follows his post with a company’s supposed capture of the new EPYC. Still, it is always good to observe rumors with a certain deal of skepticism.

As we can see, AMD can adopt a format of up to 8 CCDs (Core Complex Die) in its EPYC 9006. So we would have the Zen 6 nuclei counting up to 96 and Zen 6C to 256. Not only that, but the company would also implement 128MB of cache per CCD, for a total of up to 1GB of L3 cache in venice processors.

Two sockets for the EPYC 9006

Taking advantage of the hxl post, another leak that signs as Bionic_Squash and has also been known as Broly presents some more possible details about the CPUs.

According to him, there will be two sockets for the EPYC 9006. The SP8 will be compatible with 96 Zen 6 and 128 Zen 6C nuclei processors with TDP between 350 and 400W. Meanwhile, SP7 will only use Zen 6C CPUS, reaching a maximum of 256 nuclei, with 600W TDP.
