Valve announces limited edition Steam Deck OLED in white

While a second generation of the Steam Deck will take some time to arrive, Valve continues to find ways to attract the public to the current version of the device. Last Monday (11), she announced that is producing a limited edition OLED modelwhich will differentiate itself by adopting the color white.

According to the manufacturer, the new option hits stores on November 18th and will only be offered in limited quantities. To purchase it, you will need to spend no less than US$679 (R$3,900), a value that guarantees 1 TB of space for storing games you have purchased on Steam.

The general specifications of the white OLED Steam Deck They are the same as the model already available in black. This means that the device will have a 7.4-inch display (1280 x 800) with a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz, a 50 Wh battery and will come with an APU based on AMD’s Zen 2 and RDNA 2 technologies.

Steam Deck OLED already had another limited model

Valve’s announcement marks the second time the company has decided to offer a limited model of the Steam Deck OLED. When the device was launched in late 2023, the company even offered a version with a transparent housing. However, whoever purchased it noticed months later that it tended to have obvious cracks in some of its parts.

Although competitors such as ASUS and Lenovo have launched more powerful products than Valve’s notebook, it continues to be a reference in the market. Much of this is due to its manufacturer’s decision to rely on a proprietary operating system that focuses on optimizing gaming experiences.

Therefore, although it may be more limited in terms of hardware, the Steam Deck often manages to deliver better performance than its Windows-based competitors. Despite all the popularity that the device has, so far it is not officially available in Brazil — and there is no prediction that this will happen in the future.
