Lenovo has revealed the ThinkPad 14s AI 2024, a laptop based on the AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360U processor, aimed at businesses. This is the first laptop to feature this processor, which, from the name, is not just the AI 7 360 announced by AMD, but a special version for Lenovo.
In October, AMD announced its new generation of Ryzen AI 300 PRO series processors, a special version of the Strix Point-based APUs for enterprises and businesses. These processors are virtually identical to the non-PRO consumer variants, with an extra layer of security and maintenance features for businesses.
Specifications
Lenovo has had several semi-custom variants of AMD APUs in the past. The 360U appears to be a low-power version of the 360, designed to operate within a TDP of 15 to 54W. It is possible that the 360U has a TDP coded specifically for Lenovo or includes features not mentioned in the provided datasheet.
It’s worth noting that this laptop uses an older chassis, the 7840U/8840U, as the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360U is a direct replacement for the same socket. In other words, Lenovo is likely using a locked TDP version that matches the predecessor’s standard 15W TDP.
The ThinkPad 14s AI 2024 is a 14-inch laptop with 32GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory, 1TB of storage, and a 1920×1200 display. It offers a 58Wh battery and comes equipped with WiFi 7. Notably, this laptop has two Thunderbolt 4 connectors instead of USB4.
It is listed for 9,999 RMB, approximately R$8,400.
