The PC enthusiast community has witnessed some eccentric creations over the years, but a “toaster PC” is certainly among the most unusual. Discovered in a Reddit postthis DIY (do-it-yourself) construction not only surprises with its creative format but also impresses with cutting-edge specifications hidden in a case of just 13 liters
Compact power: respectable specifications
Nicknamed “The Toaster”the mini PC has a processor Intel Core i9 14900K and the powerful video card Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090. Although the shape resembles a toaster, this PC doesn’t make toast — but it also doesn’t heat up like one. The secret to keeping the temperature under control lies in the water cooling system developed by Billet Labs, the British company responsible for the project.
The custom system utilizes loops, tubes, and a custom-designed water block. During testing, processor temperatures at full load remained around 72°C, while the RTX 4090 maintained an astonishing 56°C, with hot spots only reaching 70°C. For such a compact and powerful system, these results are impressive.
Meticulous Construction: The Process Behind the Work
Construction required around 150 hours, not including the time dedicated to filming the process. The attention to detail is evident, and the final result, which cost approximately US$6,300 (about R$31,000), has already found a buyer.
Billet Labs shared the entire build process on its YouTube channel, revealing the challenges and effort required to bring this unique machine to life. For those who appreciate compact and ingenious projects, it’s worth checking out.
