Thermal Grizzly launches new RGB block for liquid cooling directly on the die

Thermal Grizzly this week introduced the Mycro Direct-Die Pro RGB V1, its liquid cooling block for direct-to-die CPUs. In other words, the product is aimed at CPUs with delid, following the design introduced by EK earlier this year.

Just a few months after the format’s debut, we already have products with RGB lights. Not only that, but the colored LED version of the Thermal Grizzly block dissipates more heat than the previous product, which did not have the accessory. It helps the processor operate up to 6ºC cooler, according to the manufacturer.

Surprisingly (or not), it’s not because of the RGB that the new block works better. A simple tweak to the design of the copper plate that goes over the CPU has already made all the difference, says Thermal Grizzly.

The latest release of the Mycro Direct-Die Pro RGB V1 brings the solution with colored lights for processors in the LGA 1700 socket, i.e. Intel. The product without lights was already available previously, as well as the Ryzen variants – with or without colored LEDs.
