Team Group announces SSD dock with up to 1GB/s speed

Team Group has announced a new SSD dock in Japan that really sets its storage solution apart. Promising speeds of up to 1000MB/s and maximum cooling, the T-Create Classic E31 could be a good choice for those looking for more practicality than performance.

The dock consists of a cylindrical dome and a base with an M.2 connection where the SSD is installed vertically. Thus, it is possible to connect M.2 drives of different sizes, including 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and even 22110. The base also has a blower-style fan, which creates an airflow inside the cylinder to provide active cooling.

The solution, however, may not be the best choice for those looking for maximum performance. Team Group’s dock uses a 10Gbps USB-C interface to connect, which limits what we’re seeing in new PCIe Gen 4-compatible products. With PCIe Gen 5, it’s even further away. The product supports capacities of up to 8TB.

The manufacturer also highlights that the T-Create Classic E31 makes it easy to swap SSDs whenever the user wants. In fact, with the dock, there is no need for tools or opening the case, so the product could help transform traditional format drives into portable ones.

Team Group Dock Pricing and Availability

The T-Create Classic E3 was first launched in Japan, with a suggested retail price of 4,980 yen. At the current exchange rate, this value represents the equivalent of R$193.60. The manufacturer did not mention plans to launch the product in other markets, but Team Group has a considerable global presence, including in Brazil.
