TCL has brought to Brazil a new basic smartphone option with a large screen for those looking for a more affordable option. The new TCL 505 offers interesting specifications for the segment and costs less than R$1,000.

TCL 505 has a 6.75-inch screen

The TCL 505 was launched by the company here with the idea of ​​“transforming the mobile experience of users”. According to TCL, the new smartphone features cutting-edge technology, in addition to ensuring a beautiful look and, most importantly, a more affordable price.

One of the highlights of the TCL 505 is its screen, more precisely its size, ideal for those who like to consume a lot of media, such as watching videos and streaming on their smartphone. In addition, the larger size is highly sought after by those who find it easier to browse the internet and social networks with more information.

That’s because the screen has a 6.75-inch panel. Its resolution is basic, being HD+ of 720 x 1600 pixels, and the peak brightness is 400 nits. The screen also has an adaptive refresh rate of 90 Hz, raising the level slightly compared to the standard 60 Hz. The company also revealed that the screen features NXTVision technology, which offers low blue light emission to protect the eyes.

RAM memory can be virtually doubled

In terms of performance, the new TCL 505 comes with a Mediatek Helio G36 processor, which is an octa-core model with a maximum of 2.2 GHz. Despite being basic, it can handle most common everyday tasks. The RAM is 4 GB, but the device has the option of using another 4 GB of internal storage to be used as RAM, totaling 8 GB when necessary.

And speaking of internal storage, although it is a basic model, the TCL 505 offers two robust options in this part, being 128 GB or 256 GB, which guarantees space for many applications and media.

The device also comes with a 5,010mAh battery and a 10W charger. The rear camera is dual, consisting of a 50MP and hybrid camera, and a 2MP auxiliary lens. On the front, it has a 5MP sensor for selfies and video calls.

Finally, the TCL 505 comes with support for NFC technology that allows remote payment, dual speakers and facial recognition for greater security. The connection is 4G, with no support for 5G. The smartphone comes with Android 14 out of the box and will have 3 years of security updates, in addition to the guarantee of receiving Android 15.

Price and availability

The new TCL 505 is not yet available for purchase, but the company has revealed that it will be available soon. Prices will vary depending on the amount of storage chosen. During the launch, the company revealed that the 128 GB model will cost between R$788 and R$899. The 256 GB model will cost between R$999 and R$1,099.
