90s nostalgia has been given a sustainable twist with Bandai’s latest release. The “Original Tamagotchi Celebration” is the newest model of the iconic virtual pet, and its highlight is that it is made from recycled eggshells, bringing a touch of sustainability.

With an appearance that resembles a light brown egg, the device features green and white details, as well as pink buttons and accents. The choice of eggshells as the material is quite symbolic, as “Tamagotchi” is a combination of the Japanese words for egg (“tamago”) and clock (“uotchi”). In addition, the toy has always had an unmistakable oval shape.

While the “Original Tamagotchi Celebration” lacks the modern features of the Uni model, it does feature the classic gameplay that made Tamagotchi a worldwide hit.
