To improve this, Valve may soon allow other handheld consoles to use SteamOSthe Steam Deck operating system, known for delivering superior battery performance.

According to recent information from Valve’s latest SteamOS update, the company seems interested in bringing its system to more consoles. In the SteamOS 3.6.9 beta, there is a mention of support for extra ROG Ally keys, suggesting that future models may come with the new system integrated. However, the development of new Steam Deck models may have delayed these plans.

For now, the only way for other handheld consoles to offer a similar experience to the Steam Deck is through Bazzite, a Linux-based operating system that more closely mimics the aesthetics and functionality of SteamOS.
