Summary
- Spotify has launched a feature that shows weekly music consumption habits.
- The new statistics page displays the most listened to artists and songs over the last four weeks, as well as special highlights.
- The feature does not replace the Wrapped annual retrospective and can be shared on external apps, such as Instagram.
If you frequently browse Instagram, you’ve probably seen someone sharing some Stories with the most listened to songs and artists of the week on third-party sites, such as Last.FM. Now, Spotify has decided to make the practice official with a new weekly habits feature.
The platform announced this Thursday (06/11) a new feature that shows more details about the user’s weekly consumption habits. The company has already started releasing the new feature to users of free and Premium plans in more than 60 regions.
Detailed weekly data
In a way, Brazil arrived first: currently, the Brazilian version of the app — and markets like India and Indonesia — already has the “Your Time Machine” tab, which was not launched by Spotify in most markets, including the United States.
There, however, users can only check their monthly music consumption habits in detail. The tab already presents some weekly highlights, but without further details. The company has not yet announced whether it will update the tab in these markets to a weekly format.

According to Spotify’s statement, the new weekly statistics page launched globally will display the most listened to artists and songs from the last four weeks. In addition to the rankings, the tool will also bring a “special highlight” of the period.
This highlight could be a milestone reached, a new musical discovery, or a “fan moment.” The app will also use the screen to suggest playlists based on your habits and tracks you might want to listen to next.
The idea is that the resource complements existing discovery tools, such as the daylist, the News Radar, Discoveries of the Week and suggested lists on pages of venues and upcoming artist shows.
How to access weekly statistics?

In the regions that received the new feature, the way to find the new feature is the same as the monthly data in the Your Time Machine tab:
- Tap the profile icon (in the left corner of the app);
- Access the “Listening stats” tab (here, Your Time Machine);
- Check out the main artists, songs and insights of the week;
- Tap “Share” to post the cards.
Sharing can be done on external apps, such as Instagram and WhatsApp, or directly with friends on Spotify itself, which has already released a new messaging function in the app.
It is worth remembering that, like the monthly version, the new feature does not replace Spotify’s annual retrospective. Wrapped will continue to be the complete year-end event, with statistics such as artists, playlists, songs and other special Instagrammable information.
