Sony will sell refurbished PS5s for half the price of the PlayStation 5 Pro

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that it will now sell refurbished PS5s starting at $349.99 – half the price of its PlayStation 5 Pro at launch, which is $699.99.

The product will be sold exclusively on the “PlayStation Direct” digital store and will come in two versions – with and without the disc drive (Digital Edition). The latter will cost $349.99; $100 less than the version sold by the manufacturer in stores worldwide.

Additionally, Sony will also be selling the refurbished PS5 bundled with the disc drive — which is currently sold separately in stores. The bundle with both will retail for $399.99 — also $100 less than the Slim console’s sale with the drive.

Even though it has the “refurbished” condition, the manufacturer guarantees that the PS5 goes through an intense analysis process before being sold – promising that the user will receive a functional console and that this will not give them a headache.

Each certified refurbished PlayStation product undergoes a rigorous recertification process, which includes extensive testing to meet the same functional standards as PlayStation products. Your certified refurbished product will function like new.

The launch of the refurbished PS5 will serve to remove some components that may be “stuck” within the manufacturer’s inventory, freeing up space so that the PlayStation 5 Pro can also share it with other products.
