The first generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors for notebooks was not exactly a sales success, but the company does not intend to give up before making a second attempt. Since last year, rumors of the so -called Snapdragon x Elite Gen 2 appear, and now we have a leak that speaks of the name Snapdragon X2.

The information appeared on a transportation record, which has been one of the main sources of rumors in the hardware world for some time. What is noteworthy is not only the possible name of Qualcomm’s new generation to run Windows in Arm, but also something that follows that name: “Ultra Premium”.

It is difficult to speculate about this type of registration, because this may not be the commercial name of the product in its final release. However, if so, the most plausible forecast is that we would have a new level in the next generation, above the elite products, an Ultra Premium Snapdragon X2.

Notebookcheck also emphasizes the “12CH” that appears after the name of the products. According to the site, this small acronym has lit speculation that this SOC can count on twelve memory channels (12 channels) – which would be a considerable increase of 50% compared to Snapdragon x Elite.

This name appeared last year, coming from the well -known “Leak” Roland Quandt, which has an impressive history of hits in their privileged information. He states that Glymur is part of the next generation of Qualcomm project for Windows in ARM, and would possibly be focused on Desktop PCs.

The first generation of the Qualcomm Socs for Windows appeared only in notebooks. Quandt says the company was testing Project Glymur with a liquid cooling cooler for desktops, which indicates to be a processor for the traditional PC.
