Since the launch of Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 and its 5090D variant for the Chinese market, several user reports have emerged pointing serious problems after installing the latest driver update.
According to discussions in forums such as Baidu, Chiphell and Reddit, some plates have become unusable, showing detection failures and even suspicions of irreversible damage to the Integrated Circuit (CI).

Plates cease to work after update
The first reports indicate that by installing Nvidia’s latest drivers, the systems have failed to recognize the plates, with screens being permanently black.

The failure affects models of manufacturers like Manli, Colorful and Gigabyte, especially Founders Edition versions being mentioned.
Users have tried solutions such as reinstalling drivers and changing PCIE settings from 5.0 to 4.0, but to no avail in most cases.

Some experts suggest that the RTX 5090, being one of the first plates to fully adopt the PCI 5.0 standard, may be facing signaling problems when used in motherboards that share PCIE tracks with M.2 slots.

In addition, there are records of problems related to the 12VHPWR power connector, similar to incidents that affected RTX 4090, whose cables melted under high load.

RTX 5090 compatibility problems raise concerns about the 5.0 PCI transition and the durability of the new power connector, rekindling discussions about similar failures seen on RTX 4090
GeForce RTX 5090 has already pre-sold in Brazil, with high prices due to high demand and limited availability.
Nvidia has not yet officially commented on the situation, but affected consumers expect a response and possible corrective updates on future drivers.
