Seasonic has launched a new version of its popular Prime TX-1600 source in partnership with Noctua. The special edition of the PSU maintains the base of the original source, but with a new one from Noctua, promising to be quieter than its original version.

As mentioned in Lan’s speech, the Prime TX-1600 is an ATX 3.1 power supply. It is certified with titanium energy efficiency seals, both by Platinum and Cybenetics. With its new NF-A12x25 fan from Noctua, the PSU also carries a Lambda A++ seal, Cybenetics’ best rating for low noise emissions. It is worth mentioning that, at low workloads, the fan does not even turn on, guaranteeing total silence in operation.

Seasonic and Noctua highlight the noise-free operation of the Prime TX-1600 source, but the comparison of the source operating at maximum load also draws attention. Working at 100% of its capacity, the new special edition PSU registers approximately 24dBA of noise, compared to 34dBA of the original version. It’s a considerable reduction, guaranteeing Cybenetics’ most demanding seal.
The power supply is compatible with PCIe 5.1 and promises up to 150,000 hours of use, with a 12-year limited warranty from the manufacturer. The product is now available for sale in the USA, for a suggested price of US$569. This is approximately R$3,300 at the current price.
