Japanese peripheral manufacturer Sanwa presented a new USB-C cable that could be an interesting solution for anyone who has ever been stressed about positioning the connection on a device. The new product has a tip capable of rotating 360º in one axis and turning 180º in another, basically adapting to any position.
This type of solution is interesting not only for facilitating the process of plugging the cable into your device, but also possibly offering more comfort in use and putting less stress on the device’s USB-C port. This is not the first cable of its kind with a tip that rotates, but Sanwa differentiates itself because its new product not only works to recharge devices, but is also compatible with data transfer.
Unfortunately, this transfer is not the most impressive. Sanwa’s swivel tip cable is USB 2.0 compatible, with a transfer rate of up to 480Mbps. It certainly isn’t impressive when modern cables already reach 40Gbps.
In terms of energy, however, it is not left behind. Sanwa promises Power Delivery (PD) of up to 240W, which guarantees fast recharging for most of the most advanced devices currently available.
Swivel-tip USB-C cable comes in different shapes
The company presented a total of four models of cables with a rotating tip. They are available in USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A formats. Each of them comes in 1m or 1.8m options, totaling four variants.
It is worth mentioning that the 240W PD is only available on models with USB-C on both ends. Cables that use USB-A on one side are only compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 and only the side with USB-C has the rotating function.

At the moment the cables are only available in Japan. The 1m PD 240W models cost ¥2,580 (R$100), while the 1.8m versions cost ¥2,780 (R$108). Versions with USB-A at one end cost ¥1,980 (R$77) for 1m and ¥2,280 (R$89) for 1.8m.
