Sandisk launches external SSD resistant with PS5 look

Sandisk launched this week a new external SSD that the company expects to be attractive to PS5 players. In addition to being officially certified for the Sony console, the drive brings a look that evokes the video game, blank with blue lines. It even brings the PlayStation logo, showing that there was some licensing with the platform.

Obviously, the new Sandisk SSD is also compatible with PCs. It connects by USB-C 3.2 GEN 2, promising maximum transfer of 1,000m/s. Another important attraction is external coverage, which promises to protect the drive from falls up to 10 feet – about three meters. In addition, it also has IP65 certificate of water and dust protection.

Being a portable SSD, it is worth mentioning the measurements of the new drive. Official specifications report the numbers in inches: 3.97 ”x 2.07” x 0.38 ”. Converting to centimeters is about 10 x 5.2 x 0.96cm. It weighs less than 70g.

Sandisk already sells its new portable storage drive through the official website. It is available in two capacity options: 1TB, for $ 130 and 2TB, for $ 200. In the current price, the values ​​are about $ 749 and $ 1,152, respectively.

A curious fact that draws attention to the new SSD is that it must be planned for some time, as the Sandisk’s old logo in the product still appears. In December last year, the company presented its new visual identity, taking the opportunity to promote its new posture as independent of WD.
