News and rumors about One UI 7.0 have started to surface as the company is expected to start the beta program in the near future, which will allow users to try out this version of Samsung’s custom interface alongside Android 15.

There are reports that One UI 7.0 could bring significant design improvements, have more colorful app icons with ultra-smooth animations. It could even allow users to declutter the home screen.

The latest information, via @chunvn8888mentions that “Samsung’s version” of iOS’s Dynamic Island and Live Activities features will be present in One UI 7.0. Dynamic Island was Apple’s way of increasing the usability of the iPhone’s infamous notched displays. It can show relevant information like timers, allow music control, and visualize interactions with Apple Pay and Face ID.

Live Activities are essentially lock screen notifications from apps that can update automatically. For example, a sports app might show you near-real-time game scores, allowing you to follow the action without having to unlock your device.

It’s unclear at this point what Samsung’s versions of these features will be called, and whether Samsung will innovate and make them useful in other ways. One thing is for sure, though, we’ll continue to see plenty of leaks and rumors about One UI 7.0 in the coming weeks and months.
