Samsung presented its new line of SSDs 9100 Pro, the first pro compatible with PCI-e 5.0 technology. These SSDs offer different capabilities and come in versions with or without heat sink.
The new SSDs are based on the eighth generation V-Nand TLC (V8) with TCL 1-Rethrill technology, reaching I/O speeds of up to 2.4 Gbps, 1.2 times faster than the previous generation. And the 5NM controller developed by Samsung provides greater transistor density and energy efficiency.

At launch, the available capabilities are 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB. However, still in the second half of 2025, a model with 8 TB should be launched.
In terms of speed, SSDs support Up to 14,800 MB/s of sequential reading and up to 13,400 MB/s of sequential recording. Regarding the speeds of Reading and random recording, they support up to 2,200k and 2,600k IOPs respectively. This is a significant increase compared to the 990 Pro, which supports 1,400k and 1,550k IOPs.
