The device uses multimodal artificial intelligence and allows voice, vision and gesture control. The Galaxy XR will be available from October 21st in the United States and South Korea, for US$1,799, which is R$9,700 in direct conversion and without taxes. Samsung in Brazil informed the Technoblog There is no forecast for release in Latin America.
The equipment relies heavily on the Gemini assistant, which is integrated into the system and is capable of understanding the environment around the user. He also responds conversationally.
Stuffed Hardware
Let’s talk about the hardware first. The Galaxy XR has advanced sensors, cameras and other high-tech components, such as six microphones and two speakers. It tracks head, hand and eye movements.
From the moment the user puts on the device, they have Micro-OLED screens with 4K resolution for each eye. According to the technical data sheet, the product has a field of vision of 109 degrees horizontally and 100 degrees vertically. The device has a removable light shield.

There is also the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Its battery promises up to 2.5 hours of video playback.
Ergonomic design distributes pressure across the forehead and back of the head. It weighs 545 grams. The battery is separate from the headset, to reduce weight, with an additional 302 grams.
In software, Gemini stands out

The device allows you to explore 3D maps on Google Maps with Gemini suggestions, search for content on YouTube using natural commands, and use Circle to Search in Ambient View mode. During Samsung’s live demonstration, it was possible to see a function that converts 2D photos and videos into 3D.
All Android apps work on the Galaxy XR, and developers using OpenXR, WebXR or Unity can adapt their software for the platform.
The device supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and iris recognition for unlocking. Vision correction is possible through lenses sold separately.

Business use
Samsung announced corporate partnerships to use the Galaxy XR in virtual training, including an agreement with Samsung Heavy Industries for shipbuilding — that is, indoors.
The company also revealed that it is working with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, two important brands in the fashion universe, on the development of glasses with artificial intelligence technology integrated with the Android XR ecosystem. Do you know Ray-Ban Meta? Well then.
