Available from April 1st only to our partners AMDthe company released two new processors for the Ryzen line as an independent product: Ryen 7 8700F e Ryzen 5 8400F, based on the Zen 4 architecture. Like other company chips with the “F” suffix, these processors do not have an embedded graphics chip.

According to AMD, the new CPUs are optimized for efficiency with low power consumption, enabled to deliver greater overclocking performance with the click of a button. The 8700F model stands out for the presence of a Neural Processing Unit, or NPU, designed to increase AI efficiency.

Ryzen 7 8700F

The Ryzen 7 8700F processor has 8 cores and 16 threads, base clock of 4.1 GHz and boost of up to 5.0 GHz. TDP of 65W and 24 MB of cache. The box includes the Wraith Stealth cooler.

Ryzen 5 8400F

The second model announced by AMD is a six-core / 12 threads. The Ryzen 5 8400F runs at a base clock of 4.2 GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.7 GHz. The TDP is also 65W. There is 22 MB of cache, and the cooler box is also the Wraith Stealth.

Performance

According to AMD’s official slides, the Ryzen 7 8700F is compared to the Intel Core i5-14400F, while the Ryzen 5 8400F rivals the Core i5-13400F.

Price and availability

AMD’s new processors are now available for purchase. The values ​​are as follows:

  • Ryzen 7 8700F: US$ 269;
  • Ryzen 5 8400F: US$ 169.
