Early listings on Amazon around the world are common for all types of products. This time it was the Ryzen 5 9600X, which appeared on the Canadian version of the giant store for the equivalent price of R$1,920.
More precisely, the entry-level processor from the Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000 series was listed for CAD 475.51. Compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 7600X, this is a considerable price increase.
The Ryzen 5 7600X was released in September 2022, and can currently be found in the same store for 275 Canadian dollars. In other words, we have an impressive increase of almost 60% in value. Even compared to the launch price, around $300, the jump is also striking.
Since this is an unofficial leak, there is always the possibility that the price is incorrect. Many stores put a random price on the page to prepare a new product, replacing it with the correct price when it is released. The Guru3D team even doubts that this is actually the final price.
Tom’s Hardware points out that the price was the biggest negative point of the Ryzen 5 7600X when it was launched, so it is less doubtful that the Ryzen 5 9600X will be launched at a somewhat salty price. However, the list price of its predecessor has already dropped significantly, and with discounts it can be found for up to US$ 185 in the US. Perhaps the new generation will go through the same journey.
Ryzen 5 9600X has up to 20% more performance
Regardless of the final official price for the Ryzen 5 9600X, leaks indicate that the processor will bring an interesting increase in performance. Not only that, it will possibly be the model with the biggest performance increase in the Ryzen 9000 series.
At least that’s what preliminary GeekBench results show, showing a 20% single-core performance gain for the new Ryzen 5 over its predecessor. Official results will start to appear on July 31st.
In any case, for those who really want to save money on a new AM5 processor, it might be worth keeping an eye on a possible Ryzen 3 that has started to appear in the rumors.
