RTX 5090D, NVIDIA’s exclusive model to sell its RTX 50 top of line in China, has undergone extreme overclock in the hands of Tony Yu, well -known Overclock personality in the region. Also known as “Uncle Tony”, Overclocker is one of Asus’s executives for the Chinese market, so it showed the overclocking potential of an ASUS Rog RTX 5090D Astral, managing to reach 3.4GHz with the plate.
As expected, this is not a common situation of overclocking that anyone could repeat at home. The RTX 5090D underwent modifications to be cooled by liquid nitrogen (LN2) while Tony Yu carried the GPU to its limit. The memory speed reached 34gbps.
Under these extreme conditions of “forcing” performance, the GPU has hit some interesting records of benchmark synthetic tests. The plate, for example, surpassed two RTX 3090 Ti in SLI in the test Port Royaldo 3DMark.
- RTX 5090D Astral with ln2: 43,372 points
- Two RTX 3090 Ti in SLI: 36,370 points
No Fire Strike Ultrathe Overclock Astral Plate surpassed up to four GTX 1080 Ti in SLI:
- RTX 5090D Astral with ln2: 36,884 points
- Four GTX 1080 Ti in SLI: 34,752 points
- RTX 4090: 31,635 points
But even with so much overclocking, the GPU has not yet been able to hit a RTX frame A6000 Time Spy Extreme:
- RTX 5090D Astral with ln2: 30,270 points
- RTX A6000: 36,372 points
RTX 5090D in overclock may have been close to 1,000W
Unfortunately “Uncle Tony” did not disclose details of how much energy the video card pulled to deliver the numbers won to its extreme overclock. A “on top” account may indicate something close to 1,000W, however.

Prior to modifications, the built source used for exercise was using 1,300W to feed the entire system. At the time of overclocking, this number reached 1,760w. Starting from 600W nominal for the operation of the RTX 5090D, these 460W extra must have approximated the 1,000W plate in its operation. Obviously, this is an approximate calculation.
The video card should begin to be sold in China at the end of the month, along with RTX 5090 in the West.
