With less than two weeks to go CES 2025, a NVIDIA already faces difficulties in keeping the details of the long-awaited GeForce RTX 5090flagship of the new generation of graphics cards in the line RTX 50. The official presentation is scheduled for January 7th, when Jensen Huang, the company’s CEO, will make the announcement during the event.

The powerful GPU

The GeForce RTX 5090 will be equipped with the GB202-300 graphics processor, based on the Blackwell architecture. The GPU features:

  • 21,760 CUDA cores;
  • 512-bit memory bus;
  • Die area of ​​744 mm².

Around the graphics chip, 16 GDDR7 memory modules supplied by Samsung are soldered. These modules, with a speed of 28 Gbps, offer a total of 32GB of VRAM and impressive bandwidth 1792 GB/s. The information about the 32 GB of VRAM was revealed by mistake on the Zotac website.

Regarding the price, the expectation is that the RTX 5090 will cost around US$2,000.

PCB revealed

An image of the PCB (printed circuit board) of the RTX 5090 was shared on the internet, supposedly representing an alternative design from a partner AIB (Add-in Board), as it does not appear to be the Founders Edition option card.

Among the details observed in the image are:

  • 16 slots para chips GDDR7suggesting support for up to 64 GB of memory, although the factory RTX 5090 comes with 32 GB.
  • PCIe 5.0 x16 connector
  • More than 20 power phases
  • or connector 12V-2×6aligned with modern eating standards.
