A GeForce RTX 5080the next big bet for NVIDIAwas once again highlighted in the world of leaks. Now detailed information about the model MSI GeForce RTX 5080 GAMING TRIO OC Edition emerged, confirming important aspects of the graphics card, including the use of 16GB GDD memoryR7 and one 256-bit memory bus.
Board details and design
The leak reveals that the new RTX 5080 will maintain the general design of the previous line, but with some updates. The board will feature three fans and a design 2,5 slotswhich promises to provide superior thermal performance, similar to what was seen in the RTX 40 line. MSI chose to maintain the structure of the previous model, with a focus on performance and cooling stability.
Additionally, the model will be equipped with 4 doors: three DisplayPort e about HDMIalthough the exact version of these connections has not yet been detailed.
GPU Specifications
The board will use the GPU GB203-400a model based on the Blackwell architecture, with 10,752 CUDA coreswhich represents the complete configuration of the chip. Additionally, the board will support the PCIe 5.0an important advance compared to the previous generation, promising greater bandwidth and better performance on newer systems.
No major changes to the platform
An interesting point of the leak is the observation that, contrary to some expectations, there are no significant changes in the platform’s technology compared to the RTX 40 line. The marketing and specifications indicated on the packaging remain almost identical to previous models, suggesting that innovations focus more on raw GPU performance rather than radical design transformations or new platform technologies.
Expected launch
The official launch of the GeForce RTX 5080 is scheduled for CES 2025an event that will take place in less than a week. The plate is expected to hit shelves on January 21, 2025.
In terms of price, the RTX 5080 could cost around 9,999 yuan in the Chinese market (approximately $1,370), an increase from the RTX 4080’s 9,499 yuan.
