RTX 50 Series Kills Physx Support in most games

Nvidia also revealed in January that Devs could no longer develop or 32-bit-based apps on its Cudda platform. However, only now users are reporting what this means for the Domestic GPU RTX 50 series – especially for PHYSX games.

Some players should remember well of the days when Nvidia promoted Physx as one of the great differentials of its GPUS. No wonder, the company bought AGEA in 2008 because of physics simulation technology and began to encourage several devs to implement the resource in its games. Even console players must have seen the Physx logo in some PS3 titles.

The feature became very popular in 32-bit games, but with advances from different graphics engines was falling out of disuse in more modern titles. Thus, RTX 50 have no compatibility problems with most games, but in the case of 32-bit games with Physx the problems appear.

Some prominent examples we can cite are Borderlands 2, Metro 2033, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and The Witcher 3 – which famously gave work to run Hairworks in GERALT’s beautiful locks at its release.

RTX 50 plates should run Physx in 64-bit games

Since the end of the CUDA platform support refers to 32-bit applications, not specifically the Physx, RTX 50 series GPUs should handle well with the 64-bit game feature. A Reddit user, who reported problems with Borderlands 2, says Batman Arkham Knight rode more peacefully.

The bad news is that the height of Physx as dedicated technology was in the age of 32-bit games, so most old titles that feature a lot with the feature will run badly on RTX 50 plates. It is possible to turn off the configuration in many Cases, while others will render the processor – which can drown performance.
