The GPUS GeForce RTX 50 for notebooks, which should hit the market in January, were postponed in March, with class models 70 and 60 arriving only in April.
The reason for the delay, according to the Digi TimesIt is Nvidia’s priority to meet the growing demand for AI chips, which has consumed much of the company’s resources and staff.
Although chips for servers and PCs are different, reorientation of efforts to the artificial intelligence market eventually impact the launch schedule of the new generation of GPUS furniture.
The change in the schedule directly affects the gamers equipped with the RTX 50 series, many of which are already appearing on retailers and manufacturers, but should only be available in March.
The models equipped with the RTX 5070 and 5060 GPUs, in turn, are scheduled for April. After all, Nvidia was already facing supply challenges in the desktop GPUs, as observed in reduced RTX 4060 inventory rumors to make room for 5060, and now faces similar problems in the mobile segment.
This also happened to Nvidia, who had never faced delays in the past. This is estimated to be related to the company’s total focus on AI servers. Even with differences in design and processes between server chips and pcs, resource allocation can impact efficiency in debugging new products

Benchmarks impress, but stock is limited
Although availability is a concern, the RTX 5080 GPUS benchmarks for notebooks have already begun to draw attention.
According to leaks, the RTX 5080 is 18% faster than 4080 for laptops and 6% faster than 4090, rivaling 4070 Super Desktop. The results highlight the performance potential of the new generation, but doubts about availability remain.

According to recent information, the initial inventory scarcity can repeat the scenario faced by the GeForce RTX 40 line. The situation is already starting to worry consumers and manufacturers, mainly because Nvidia had already announced the pre-sale of notebooks with RTX 50 to 25 of February previously.

Change of priorities affects the schedule
O Digi Times He pointed out that Nvidia’s focus on AI chips directly influenced the delays: “Even with design differences between server and PC chips, resource allocation also impacts efficiency on new product development.”
With the market was presenting a billionaire opportunity, Nvidia reconfigures its priorities to make the most of this demand, but this has consequences for the gamer segment. Delays are expected to be punctual, but it is uncertain if the supply will be sufficient on the release date.
Despite the delays, the notebooks equipped with the GPUs of the RTX 50 series are expected to hit the market with state -of -the -art processors, such as Intel Core Ultra Hox and AMD Fire Range, reinforcing the dispute between the two manufacturers.
The fiercest competition in the gamers’ laptop market will benefit consumers in the long run, but limited availability can be an initial challenge.
