According to the Jeuxvideo portal, NVIDIA RTX 4090 surpasses the highest rated supercomputer of 2004 in terms of gross computational power. Even though it is a video card, a significantly smaller device, the plate comes with a gross computational power higher than Blue Gene/L.
The IBM supercomputer project was launched in 1999 and discontinued in 2015.
In 2004, Blue Gene/L reached first place in the Top500.orgem list, standing out for its processing power. It was equipped with 32,768 processors and a colossal memory of 16 tbbeing a milestone in technology of the time.

According to the Jeuxvideo portal, Blue Gene/L had a gross performance power of 70.72 TFLOPs. And, except for its impressive storage capacity, NVIDIA RTX 4090 surpasses this supercomputer in almost every other aspects.
