A version of the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 using Strix Halo processors has been rumored since August this year. Now, we have the ASUS gaming tablet appearing in initial store listings, confirming AMD’s long-awaited new APUs. The device appeared in 12-core and 16-core configurations.
An interesting aspect of these listings is that they confirm that components from the Strix Halo series will, in fact, be used in gaming products like the ROG Flow Z13. Previous leaks showed signs of AMD promoting APUs for professional use in workstations, but the large size of their integrated GPUs will probably bring a lot of advantage to games as well.
The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 appears with the product code GZ302EA in the listings. Neither confirms the commercial names of their processors, but they are called Strix Halo in both cases. In one, the tablet appears with a 12-core APU, while in the other leak, 16 appear.
Through previous leaks about the new series of AMD APUs, we know that the 16-core model will probably be the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, while the option with fewer cores will be the Ryzen AI Max 390. Both models feature an integrated GPU with 40 Compute Units (CUs).
