Radeon AI PRO R9600D and R9700S appear on AMD’s website, and W7900D receives details

Amid export difficulties to China, AMD appears unwilling to give up. The Radeon PRO W7900D, which appeared a few months ago in a driver update, received new details on the company’s website, at the same time that we had the reveal of two new models: a Radeon AI PRO R9600D and an AI PRO R9700S.

As expected, the Radeon PRO W7900D is similar to the standard W7900 model, but slightly reduced in specifications to allow it to be exported to China. The card also has 96 Compute Units (CUs) and 6,144 stream processors, accompanied by 48GB of GDDR6 memory with a bandwidth of 864GB/s.

The difference is in the clock of the new model. The W7900D version appears at 2,156MHz, while the standard version of the card goes up to 2,500MHz. This is enough to reduce the FP32 computing power from 61.4TFLOPS to 54TFLOPS, possibly allowing the board to be shipped to China.

Radeon AI PRO R9600D and AI PRO R9700S also appear on AMD’s website

As with the W7900D, a new Radeon AI PRO R9600D was listed in a new driver update for GPUs on Linux. Following what we just saw confirmed in the W7900D, the R9600D should be a limited model of the AI ​​PRO R9600 for China.

An important difference is that we have not yet had an official launch of the Radeon AI PRO R9600, so VideoCardz speculates that this card may debut in China, in the form of the R9600D, and then gain its standard version and be made available globally.

Another model that draws attention is a supposed Radeon AI PRO R9700S. The card appears to be a variant of the already known AI PRO R9700, but the “S” in the nomenclature is new for the segment, so it is difficult to speculate what changes will be made to this model.
