
Qualcomm took advantage of their participation in the 2025 game Developers (GDC) to make the official announcement of their new Snapdragon G series of portable device processors. The premiere was accompanied by the revelation of some of the Handhelds who will come equipped with the new Socs.
There are three new components, led by the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3. Qualcomm promises up to 30% more computational power and up to 28% more graphs performance compared to its predecessor, the G3 Gen 2. The Soc supports up to 144Hz in QHD resolution, and is compatible with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3.

In the intermediate segment we have the Snapdragon G2 Gen 2, which offers the highest increase in relation to the past generation between the three new releases. According to Qualcomm, they are 2.3 times more computational performance and 3.8 times more performance in the GPU. It brings the same support for displays and wireless connection as the G3 Gen 3.
The option of input the Snapdragon G1 Gen 2. Here Qualcomm does not boast of large increments in performance, and its support for FullHD screens at 120Hz. The wireless connection is in Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, showing that it is a SOC geared even for cheaper devices.

Ayaneo, Onexsugar and Retroid will use snapdragon g
To help promote your new line of handheld processor, Qualcomm has revealed some devices that will use Snapdragon G.

Ayaneo Pocket S2 and Onexsuar Sugar 1 are examples with G3 Gen 3. We can see that Ayaneo’s device follows the switch format that became popular in the segment, while sugar has a very different design. It looks like a Nintendo DS, but it is possible to unleash the bottom screen and put the controls on the larger display sides, to look in the switch style.

In addition to the Pocket S2, Ayaneo will also launch a Gaming Pad with the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, which is basically a tablet gamer with a visible fan on the back.

Qualcomm also showed an entry option, the Retroid Pocket PR Classic. This is Handheld in Game Boy format that has already appeared in previous Retroid announcements.
