Amazon Japan confirmed that the PlayStation 5 Slim cover will not fit the PS5 Pro. It was to be expected, but Sony had not yet officially confirmed the information. Among the accessories, the vertical stand and the detachable disc player will be compatible with the Pro version of the PlayStation 5.
We emphasize that the cover for the base version of the PlayStation 5 (including the digital one) are also not compatible with the PS5 Pro. It is important to know this information so as not to end up getting confused and, for example, buying a cover for the Chroma edition of the PlayStation 5 mistakenly.
At least the vertical stand and detachable disc reader are compatible. Therefore, if you change your PlayStation 5, you will not need to purchase new accessories. Sony does not include such accessories in the console package, making it necessary to purchase them separately if necessary.
PS5 Pro cover features different design
As the new PlayStation features a different design, with three scratches instead of just one (Slim model), the incompatibility between the cover of the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro is no surprise. Sony opted for a new design and now has three different versions of the PlayStation 5 covers.
When launching special versions of the caps, the company will have to think about these differences. There is also a possibility that they will stop releasing new versions of the base model covers, focusing only on the PS5 Pro and Slim.
