After Sony’s announcement of the PS5 Pro and its highly criticized price tag of $700 in the United States, Sony has finally confirmed the price of the new console here in Brazil. And it’s as steep as expected.

The company revealed that the PS5 Pro will cost a whopping R$6,999 in Brazil. The price was discovered due to the start of pre-sales of the console on the brand’s official online store, which takes place through partner stores such as Amazon, Kabum, Magazine Luiza and Web Fones.

New console will arrive in Brazil in November

Yes, anyone thinking about buying the new PS5 Pro can now sign up for pre-sale to secure theirs, but remember that it will only start being delivered from November 7, 2024. The information was also confirmed on the e-commerce pages.

This is good news, as some were speculating that the PS5 Pro would take a little longer to arrive here. The fact that it will arrive in Brazil on the same day as the global launch shows that we are still a very relevant and important market for Sony.

The amount of R$6,999 can be paid on the card and divided into up to 10 interest-free installments. For those who want to guarantee a discount, the payment will have to be made in cash, via PIX, to get a 7% discount on the amount, reaching R$6,509.

In some stores, shipping is also free throughout Brazil, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on this detail as well.

Advantages of PS5 Pro

PS5 Pro

The PS5 Pro was announced in September and promises to be a more enhanced version of the standard PS5, mainly due to new technologies. The idea is that players can run their games freely without having to choose between performance and graphics, but rather ensuring the best of both worlds.

The promise is that many titles will be able to run in 4K at 60 FPS. To do this, they added a larger, renewed and improved GPU, which is compatible with more artificial intelligence features and also with the new PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) upscaling technology, which works more or less like Nvidia’s DLSS.

In addition, the new console also features advanced support for ray tracing, ensuring a notable improvement in the visuals of more demanding games. Another advantage of the Pro model is that it brings a long-awaited increase in internal storage, now arriving with 2 TB.

But even with these promises, the PS5 Pro has still been the target of many criticisms, and the main one has been regarding the price. Many gamers do not believe that all these improvements are worth such a large price difference compared to the standard PS5, especially since the Pro version does not come with a disc drive, which must be purchased separately.

And you, are you going to buy the PS5 Pro here in Brazil?
